Peddi and Dragon Glimpses Spark Mixed Reactions Among Fans

At a time when Tollywood theatres are going through a relatively dry phase, fans expected the trailer of Peddi and the glimpse of Dragon to create massive excitement and fully satisfy the growing anticipation around both films. However, judging by the mixed reactions on social media, neither promotional video seems to have completely met audience expectations.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi marks his second directorial venture and stars Ram Charan in the lead role. From the beginning, the film was largely projected as a rooted mass-action entertainer in typical commercial Telugu cinema style. The songs and initial teaser also built expectations for powerful mass moments and energetic elevations.

However, the recently released trailer surprised many viewers by presenting the film in a more emotional and dramatic tone, moving slightly away from what fans initially expected. While several audiences appreciated the emotional depth and visuals, some fans were left waiting for stronger high-voltage moments associated with Ram Charan’s screen image.

At the same time, many believe the upcoming promotional content could still shift the narrative. Reports suggest that the team is planning a grand promotional campaign, including an A. R. Rahman live music concert in Bhopal, the launch of a special song, and another major event at Uppal Stadium, possibly alongside the release of the film’s main theatrical trailer.

When it comes to Dragon, starring NTR in his first collaboration with director Prashanth Neel, the lengthy glimpse successfully established the dark cinematic world, large-scale production design, and the director’s signature visual style. The scale and ambition of the project were clearly visible throughout the video.

However, despite the strong presentation, some fans felt the glimpse lacked the explosive elevations and action-heavy intensity they had been expecting from the combination of NTR and Prashanth Neel. While the atmosphere and world-building impressed audiences, the emotional punch and larger-than-life moments many anticipated appeared limited in the promotional cut.

Still, Dragon has the advantage of time. With nearly a year left before release, the makers have enough room to carefully plan future promotional material and possibly respond to audience feedback with stronger campaigns going forward.

Ultimately, while both Peddi and Dragon managed to dominate social media conversations and generate significant online buzz, the real success will depend on the impact they create inside theatres.

Peddi is scheduled to release on June 4, while Dragon is set to hit screens on June 11 next year.
