Prabhas is currently balancing two major projects — Fauji and Spirit — both of which are progressing on different timelines.
Recently, Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, resumed its shoot with Prabhas joining the latest schedule. The director is reportedly keen on completing the film on schedule, with a planned theatrical release set for March 2027.
This naturally shifts attention back to Fauji, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The period drama had initially been planned for a Summer 2026 release, but was later postponed to Dasara and then to December due to production adjustments.
In recent months, there have been ongoing rumours about delays, with speculation that several shooting schedules were affected and that the film might not meet its earlier timelines. However, production sources maintain that the team is still aiming for a 2026 theatrical release, prioritising quality and careful execution.
The makers are reportedly working to complete the remaining portions without further postponements and are focused on streamlining the shoot.
Another important factor is the film’s OTT agreement, which is said to be structured around a 2026 release window. Any shift to 2027 could reportedly impact the film’s digital rights valuation.
Given these considerations, the team is said to be keen on avoiding further delays, with efforts underway to wrap up Fauji and ensure its arrival in theatres before the end of 2026.
