During the final phase of shooting for Peddi, Ram Charan reportedly suffered a significant hand injury while filming a wrestling sequence. Despite the injury, he continued shooting without taking a break, later appearing at public events with a wrist brace and hand support.

Speaking at the Mumbai trailer launch event, Ram Charan explained what happened on set. He said that during an intense wrestling schedule in Hyderabad, director Buchi Babu Sana insisted on using real wrestlers to maintain authenticity. The tight grips during the scenes reportedly caused pressure on his hand, resulting in a cartilage tear.

Charan described the experience as a “sweet memory,” adding that such moments come with physically demanding roles and assured that he is recovering well. He also mentioned that he has dedicated nearly two years to the project, while the director has invested close to five years in bringing the film to life.

At the event, when asked to lift a ceremonial prop mace, he politely declined due to his injury but thanked the team and fans for their constant support.

Music composer A. R. Rahman also praised Ram Charan’s dedication, noting that his screen presence stands out strongly in every frame of the film.
