Revanth Reddy Plans Unified Welfare Card for All Govt Schemes

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to develop a “Unified Welfare Card” aimed at consolidating all government welfare benefits received by each citizen into a single integrated platform. During a review meeting with senior officials, including Duddilla Sridhar Babu, the Chief Minister emphasized that the system should clearly reflect the schemes availed by individuals, the departments involved, and the extent of benefits received.

He instructed officials to immediately initiate a comprehensive data collection drive across all departments to compile beneficiary information. The proposed system, he said, should create a complete welfare profile for every citizen and, when supported by artificial intelligence tools, improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in scheme implementation.

The Chief Minister noted that the unified card would help ensure that benefits reach genuine eligible beneficiaries while identifying and eliminating ineligible claims. Instead of multiple department-specific cards, he suggested developing a single integrated card under the IT department, potentially linked with a unique state-level identification system similar to Aadhaar.

The proposed framework will include data from key welfare schemes such as Aarogyasri, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, fee reimbursement programs, labour and education department benefits, and various insurance schemes. He also called for integrating data from the recent socio-economic, educational, employment, and caste survey to strengthen the database.

Officials were further directed to enable real-time updates, such as linking death registrations with pension databases, and incorporating citizens’ health profiles. The IT department was also asked to compile comprehensive data on contract and outsourcing employees across departments.

Revanth Reddy stressed that the Unified Welfare Card should ultimately serve as a tool to evaluate the effectiveness of welfare schemes and ensure that government benefits are efficiently and transparently delivered to the intended beneficiaries.
