After facing setbacks with films like Kanguva and Retro, Tamil star Suriya seems to have made a strong comeback in the Telugu states with Veerabhadrudu, regaining both box-office momentum and audience confidence. The film’s performance has reportedly brought major relief to the actor, especially after a phase of inconsistent theatrical results.

Producer Raj Kandukuri stated that Suriya finally found the right script to reconnect with Telugu audiences. According to him, the actor’s larger-than-life character with a divine backdrop has resonated strongly with viewers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Trade reports suggest that Veerabhadrudu has collected nearly ₹13 crore share from the Telugu states alone, with an estimated gross of around ₹25 crore. These figures are considered impressive for a dubbed film in the current market scenario.

Industry observers point out that Suriya once enjoyed tremendous popularity among Telugu audiences with blockbuster films like Ghajini and Yamudu, which helped him build a strong fan base in the region. Although he later shifted towards content-driven and OTT-friendly films such as Jai Bhim and Soorarai Pottru, which earned critical acclaim for his performances, he had been missing a major commercial success in theatres.

Now, with Veerabhadrudu reportedly crossing ₹200 crore gross worldwide, the film has once again highlighted the importance of theatrical success in maintaining star power and mass appeal. Amid ongoing discussions between producers and exhibitors in the Telugu states, the movie’s strong theatrical run is being viewed as a reminder that cinema halls still play a crucial role in shaping stardom.

Raj Kandukuri concluded by saying that theatres continue to be the true measure of an actor’s popularity, as genuine stardom is ultimately built through audience footfalls and big-screen experiences.
