Trisha Krishnan’s name has once again become a hot topic in Tamil political circles. Ever since superstar Vijay assumed political responsibilities as Chief Minister, speculation about Trisha’s possible entry into politics has been gaining momentum. Rumours linking her to Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party have been circulating for quite some time, further fuelled by their occasional public appearances together.
Following Vijay’s resignation from his Tiruchirappalli Assembly seat, there were strong reports suggesting that Trisha might contest the by-election from that constituency. However, no official confirmation ever came from the party, and the speculation eventually faded.
At present, Trisha remains focused on her film career, with multiple projects in hand. Sources indicate that she is prioritizing completing her ongoing commitments, making an immediate political entry unlikely. Despite this, discussions about her possible future in politics continue to persist in public discourse.
Adding fuel to the rumours was a resurfaced 2004 video in which Trisha jokingly said she aspired to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and asked fans to “wait ten years.” The clip recently went viral again on social media, especially after Vijay’s growing political influence, leading to renewed speculation about her political ambitions.
Her attendance at Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony as Chief Minister also became a talking point. While some interpreted it as a political signal, others viewed it simply as a friendly presence.
Meanwhile, earlier reports claiming she might contest from Vijay’s vacated constituency were further complicated by emerging speculation about actor Raghava Lawrence being considered for the seat instead.
Trisha, however, has already addressed the rumours through a legal statement issued via her lawyer. She clarified that she is not associated with any political party and wishes to be recognized solely as an actress. She also stressed that her personal life should not be dragged into political discussions and warned of legal action against false narratives.
Despite her clarification, social media continues to buzz with renewed debates, largely driven by old videos, fan speculation, and her association with Vijay. While Trisha has firmly denied any political involvement for now, discussions around her potential entry into politics show no signs of slowing down.
