US President Donald Trump has once again targeted major American media outlets over their coverage of the ongoing West Asia conflict, accusing them of bias against his administration and claiming they would portray any development negatively for the United States.
In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump criticised both the media and Democratic leaders, alleging that news organisations were deliberately pushing misleading narratives about the conflict involving Iran. Referring to Democrats as “Dumacrats,” Trump claimed that even if Iran were to completely surrender, sections of the media would still present it as a victory for Tehran and a defeat for Washington.
Trump wrote that even if Iran admitted losing its naval and air capabilities, the “Fake News Media” would still describe it as a “masterful and brilliant victory” over the United States. He specifically named major outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and CNN, accusing them of unfairly attacking his administration and spreading distorted reports.
Although Trump did not refer to any specific article or report that triggered his latest remarks, he has repeatedly criticised media coverage related to the Iran conflict in recent weeks. Earlier, he accused The New York Times of publishing “fake news” regarding Iran and demanded an apology over what he described as misleading reporting. He also rejected an editorial by The Wall Street Journal which suggested that his claims of victory in the conflict were premature.
Meanwhile, tensions in West Asia remain high despite ongoing diplomatic efforts. The US military recently carried out what it described as “self-defence strikes” targeting Iranian missile launch sites and boats near the Strait of Hormuz, even amid an active ceasefire situation. Iran strongly condemned the strikes, accusing Washington of dishonesty and questioning the credibility of ongoing diplomatic negotiations in the region.
