US President Donald Trump has made fresh remarks regarding India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the future of US–India relations during a recent interaction, drawing global attention.
Trump stated that he shares a strong friendship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and suggested that the United States would stand by India in the event of any external aggression, as long as Modi remains in power. However, he also added that he was uncertain about the US response if there were a change in leadership.
“If anybody attacks that man, we’re going to be there. Now if there’s a new leader, I’m not sure about it. If they’re attacked and he’s the leader, we’re going to be there to help,” Trump said.
He further spoke about ongoing cooperation between the two nations, highlighting trade discussions and economic ties. Trump noted that both countries are engaged in strong economic exchanges and investment activities.
“We had very good conversations with PM Modi and we are doing trade deals. A lot of things are happening between the United States and India. The United States is doing the best we’ve ever done,” he said.
Trump also claimed that India is investing significantly in the United States, adding that factories and infrastructure projects are expanding as part of growing bilateral cooperation.
His remarks come at a time of heightened global geopolitical developments, further underlining the evolving dynamics between Washington and New Delhi.
