The excitement surrounding Varanasi, the highly anticipated action-adventure starring Mahesh Babu and directed by SS Rajamouli, continues to reach new heights. Scheduled for a grand theatrical release in April next year, the film has become one of Indian cinema’s most-awaited projects. Even the smallest update related to the film quickly goes viral, and the makers have now unveiled a unique international marketing strategy to build global anticipation.
Instead of following the conventional promotional route with regular posters and social media campaigns, the team has opted for an international approach. A special promotional poster has been released to announce a series of screenings of Rajamouli’s iconic films across Europe from June 26 to July 4.
The screenings will take place in major cities across France and Switzerland, including Paris, Lyon, and Neuchâtel. Announcing the event, the makers stated that they are “bringing Rajamouli’s world to France,” with the aim of introducing his cinematic legacy to a wider international audience.
The special film festival will feature some of Rajamouli’s biggest blockbusters, including RRR, Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Maryada Ramanna, and Eega. In addition to the screenings, the tour will include masterclass sessions with Rajamouli, press interactions, and fan meet-and-greet events at select venues.
The biggest attraction of the event, however, will be an exclusive first glimpse of Varanasi. The makers have officially announced that the glimpse will be screened before every Rajamouli film during the European tour, giving audiences in France and Switzerland the first opportunity to experience footage from the much-awaited Mahesh Babu starrer.
Alongside the Varanasi preview, audiences will also get an exclusive look at the animated project Baahubali: The Eternal War, making the screenings even more special for Rajamouli fans.
Rajamouli has built a reputation for carefully planning his global marketing campaigns rather than relying on excessive promotions. After successfully taking RRR to international audiences during its Oscar campaign, the filmmaker now appears to be laying the foundation for Varanasi’s worldwide reach well before its release.
With the film targeting an April release next year, fans have been eagerly waiting for the next major update. The decision to unveil the first glimpse during the European screenings has only amplified the excitement, further strengthening the film’s global buzz months ahead of its theatrical debut.
