Why Is Nani’s The Paradise Getting Delayed?

Natural Star Nani’s much-awaited pan-India film The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela, has carried huge expectations ever since it was announced. Following the blockbuster success of Dasara, fans are eagerly looking forward to the duo’s second collaboration. However, discussions are now gaining momentum regarding the film’s shooting progress and release plans.

The makers had earlier announced August 21 as the release date. But according to industry buzz, the shoot is yet to be wrapped up. A few crucial action sequences and portions of the talkie part are reportedly still pending, raising doubts over whether the film can meet its scheduled release.

While Nani’s films are generally known for their quick completion, The Paradise appears to be an exception. Despite the actor and director Srikanth Odela focusing entirely on the project since its launch, the shoot is said to be taking longer than initially expected.

The primary reason is believed to be the film’s massive scale. Being a period action drama, The Paradise reportedly features several large-scale sequences that require extensive planning and execution. Sources say Srikanth Odela is determined to ensure top-notch quality, leading to additional days being allotted for several scenes.

At the same time, post-production work is progressing alongside the shoot. Given the film’s heavy reliance on visuals and action episodes, editing and VFX work are also said to be consuming considerable time.

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander’s busy schedule is also being cited as one of the factors behind the delay. The team is reportedly aiming to deliver an exceptional soundtrack and background score, which is taking more time than anticipated.

As a result, there is speculation that the makers may shift the release from August to the last week of September. However, no official announcement has been made so far.

Interestingly, another discussion doing the rounds is about the possibility of The Paradise being expanded into a two-part franchise. With the story said to have a vast canvas, some believe the makers could consider splitting it into two films in the future. But once again, there is no official confirmation regarding this.

For now, industry circles believe that the extended shooting schedules, lengthy post-production work, and the team’s emphasis on quality are the major reasons behind the delay. However, clarity on the matter will emerge only when the makers make an official statement.
