Andhra Pradesh politics witnessed a fresh war of words after remarks made by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy sparked a strong counterattack from ruling party leaders, further intensifying the political atmosphere in the state.
Jagan recently drew attention after proposing a new conceptual idea for a combined capital region, informally referred to as “MAVIGUN,” which links Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur. The suggestion quickly became a topic of debate and criticism in political circles.
Responding to this, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh launched a sharp satirical counter, coining a nickname “BenTaHy” for Jagan. He explained that it refers to Jagan’s frequent movement between Bengaluru, Tadepalli, and Hyderabad, suggesting the name is derived from the first letters of these locations.
Lokesh also made strong political remarks, alleging past controversies involving the YSR Congress Party leadership. He further escalated criticism by linking Jagan’s statements to earlier political narratives involving the Telugu Desam Party and its leadership.
The exchange has added fuel to the already heated political rivalry between the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), with both sides intensifying their public messaging.
Jagan had earlier made remarks targeting former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and also referred to long-standing political narratives involving the legacy of N. T. Rama Rao, further escalating tensions.
Following Jagan’s recent media statements, Lokesh’s response has now turned the discussion into a full-scale political exchange, highlighting the ongoing rivalry and sharp rhetoric between the two camps in Andhra Pradesh politics.
