Superstar Mahesh Babu has dedicated a significant portion of his career to a single ambitious project—SS Rajamouli’s upcoming globe-trotting action drama Varanasi. The film, mounted on a grand scale, features an ensemble cast including Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and has been filmed across multiple international and Indian locations.
After completing crucial underwater sequences and extensive portions shot at specially constructed sets in Varanasi, Prayagraj, and other parts of Uttar Pradesh, the team has now shifted base to Hyderabad. Priyanka Chopra is currently spending time in the city, reportedly visiting places like AMB Cinemas along with Namrata Shirodkar, while Mahesh Babu is on a brief break.
According to reports, the makers are now gearing up for a demanding month-long schedule of high-intensity action sequences in Hyderabad. Mahesh Babu is expected to actively participate in this extensive shoot, which will include several challenging stunts performed by the actor himself.
Given SS Rajamouli’s reputation for perfectionism, especially in designing large-scale action blocks, this schedule is expected to be both physically intense and crucial for the film’s narrative. Once this major schedule is completed, Mahesh Babu is likely to take another short break before resuming further work.
With a planned release targeted for April 2027, the team is maintaining a steady shooting pace to ensure the film meets its deadline without compromising on scale or quality.
