OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Work

OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Work, a new AI-powered productivity platform designed to help professionals streamline complex tasks by combining the capabilities of ChatGPT, Codex, and advanced workplace tools into a single experience.

Unlike the traditional chatbot experience, ChatGPT Work is built to assist users in creating documents, presentations, spreadsheets, websites, and software projects. The platform is powered by OpenAI’s latest flagship AI model, GPT-5.6, which offers enhanced reasoning, multitasking, and problem-solving capabilities.

One of the biggest additions is the integration of Codex, OpenAI’s AI coding assistant. With natural language prompts, users can write, edit, debug, and manage software projects more efficiently, making the platform especially useful for developers and technical teams.

ChatGPT Work is aimed at a wide range of professionals, including software engineers, analysts, marketers, consultants, researchers, and other knowledge workers who regularly handle complex workflows.

The platform also integrates with popular workplace applications such as Gmail, Slack, Google services, and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms like Salesforce and HubSpot. These integrations allow users to search emails, documents, chats, and customer information from a single interface, enabling them to complete multi-step tasks without switching between multiple applications.

Alongside ChatGPT Work, OpenAI has also launched a redesigned desktop application for both Windows and macOS. The updated app brings together ChatGPT, Codex, and the new workflow tools to provide a more seamless productivity experience across devices.

ChatGPT Work is initially rolling out to users with Pro, Enterprise, and Edu subscriptions on both web and mobile platforms. OpenAI has confirmed that support for Plus and Business subscribers will be added in the coming days.

The redesigned desktop application is being released globally for both Mac and Windows users. Chat, Work, and Codex features will be available across all subscription tiers, including the Free plan, although OpenAI notes that larger and more complex projects may consume a greater portion of a user’s available usage limits compared to smaller tasks.
