After creating a strong political impact in Andhra Pradesh politics in 2024, Pawan Kalyan now appears to be gradually shifting focus towards Telangana politics as well. He recently held an aggressive press conference at his Jubilee Hills residence, where he was highly critical of the Telangana government, sparking fresh political debate.
During the interaction, Kalyan alleged that certain political forces were trying to suppress or target him, but he asserted that he would not be intimidated by such attempts. His strong remarks have now triggered a sharp political response from BRS leadership.
Reacting to his comments, BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) stated that no one is stopping Pawan Kalyan from entering Telangana politics. He pointed out that several Andhra-origin families, including Kalyan’s, have been living in Telangana without facing any issues, and questioned the narrative being projected against the state’s people.
KTR further clarified that while he holds personal respect for Pawan Kalyan as an individual and political leader, any attempt to create political traction in Telangana would face strong political consequences. He also reminded that Pawan Kalyan’s party had already contested the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, and similar political participation has happened earlier, including leaders like Chandrababu Naidu.
Meanwhile, KTR’s response was seen as more calculated compared to sharper reactions from other political leaders, including some from Congress and BRS leaders like Kavitha, who had earlier responded more aggressively.
Overall, Pawan Kalyan’s recent statements and his indication of contesting in Telangana in the 2028 elections have once again intensified political discussions, as his moves appear to be influencing political equations not only in Andhra Pradesh but also across Telangana.
