Telangana govt says no to lockdown, yes to night curfew

With the ending date of the existing night curfew fast approaching, the Telangana government has announced the extension of the night curfew till 5 AM of the 15th of this month.

Along with the extension, the TS Sarkar imposed new restrictions and guidelines stating that marriages should not have more than 100 invitees, while the last rites should have only 20 invitees.

All the political, sports, entertainment programs across the state were suspended till the time, night curfew will be active. The government has issued strict orders for the concerned authorities to see that the guidelines are followed strictly.

The night curfew, which is still active will come to an end on the 8th of this month. With only one day left for the last day of night curfew, the state government announced the night curfew extension.

Given the rise in the Covid-19, the Telangana government imposed an 11-day night curfew earlier in April, which was extended again. Now the night curfew was extended again.

In the past 24 hours, Telangana added 5,892 new Covid infections, pushing the total pandemic infections in the state to 4,81,640. With 46 new casualties, the Covid-19 casualty toll in the state has mounted to 2,626. Telangana has 73,851 active cases.
