Former Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy has announced that he will approach the court over the alleged irregularities in the Amaravati capital construction project. Raising serious questions over the estimated expenditure of nearly ₹50,000 crore, he alleged that the project costs have been inflated and called for complete transparency in the execution of the works.

Addressing the issue, Vijayasai Reddy said the public has a right to know how such a massive amount of money is being spent and whether the estimates are justified. He maintained that all financial aspects of the project should be placed in the public domain to ensure accountability.

He further stated that he would seek legal intervention to examine the alleged irregularities and ensure that public funds are utilized responsibly.

Apart from questioning the construction costs, Vijayasai Reddy also criticised both the TDP and the YSRCP over the prolonged uncertainty surrounding Andhra Pradesh’s capital issue. He said the continuing political disputes over Amaravati have delayed the state’s development and created confusion among the people.

His remarks have once again brought the Amaravati capital project into the political spotlight, with the issue expected to trigger fresh debate over transparency, expenditure, and the future of the state’s capital development plans.
