Allu Arjun has been waiting for quite some time to collaborate with filmmakers from other languages, and that long wait is finally set to end with his upcoming project directed by Atlee Kumar.
Very soon, Allu Arjun is also expected to work with Malayalam filmmaker Basil Joseph. Although an official announcement is still awaited, there has been strong speculation in the industry about this collaboration.
At the same time, clarity has now emerged that the project is not based on Shaktimaan. Basil Joseph was earlier linked to a proposed Shaktimaan adaptation with Ranveer Singh in the lead role, but that version of the project did not materialize and is reportedly shelved.
Reports suggest that writer-director Arun Anirudhan, who worked with Basil Joseph, has also confirmed that the earlier Shaktimaan-related script is no longer in development. He further clarified that the film being planned with Allu Arjun is an entirely separate project with a different story and concept.
According to industry buzz, while Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph have already met multiple times to discuss ideas, the genre and storyline are yet to be finalized. However, their collaboration is confirmed to be happening independently of any superhero or Shaktimaan connection.
There are also unverified reports linking Basil Joseph’s presence at Allu Sirish’s wedding to the ongoing discussions, though there is no official confirmation on that aspect.
The film is expected to go on floors only after Allu Arjun completes his current commitments, including his upcoming project Raaka.
